On step 8 of the Build Guide I’m getting ~996 ohms instead of what’s described here:
“On the SD card header, resistance between pins 4 and 6 should be at least a few kiloohms. I measured 6 kohms with no Core connected.”
Is this indicative of a build error?
Solder joints look good, no bridges or cold joints, etc. Core is not installed. Continuity testing has not yielded any unexpected shorts or OL.
I plan on first doing a power check w/o the Core when I’m done with the build, but my OCD is demanding I compare notes with others… Thank you for any help!
you’re measuring the loose SD card header not inserted into the main PCB?
or you’ve soldered the header and are measuring on the main PCB?
assuming no SD card is inserted?
Anyway, on my model I measure 2.1k between pins 4 and 6,header soldered to the main PCB, Core unplugged. This is pretty reasonable actually, as this is just the 3.3V rail to GND, and by then a lot of other stuff is on that rail. Some stuff has been added in v0.7 and I haven’t measured since then. Heh.
In short, nothing is shorted, your resistance should be fine. Plug the Core and measure again, it should go down to 200 ohms or less.
My card header is fully soldered and installed, Core unplugged. Getting ~996 ohms rather than your 2.1K. No SD card.
I figure there may be all sorts of “leaks” courtesy of having the board so close to completion. I did check before soldering the card headers to the main board and all seemed well.

Aaaaaaaaand——just tried measuring again with the Core installed and it’s 260 ohms. Yay!
Many thanks. I’ll wrap this build up tomorrow and I’m feeling confident.
