Error messages a general thread?

Is there a general thread about error messages? It doesn’t hurt to have one in my opinion.

I was trying to explore patches tonight and I just got this for example:

Shell task failed, exit value: 1
Patch compilation failed:

How can I know if this is due to a “bad” patch vs. some software error?

There should have been more text, like “error:” or “#error” etc.

Many of the old community patches have some errors, I have been trying to find some time to iron them out (or delete them if they are not salvageable) but oh well…

mtyas/messymix is a nightmare freak show of patch errors

Yeah the community patches have some errors. I should make a list as i go over the patches and let you know.

That way i can also start understanding how to make patches with less trouble…

No worries, there is a batch test function which logs all broken patches, it’s a few hundred and most are simply outdated

Here is a new error:

“File error: FR_NOT_ENABLED, filename:”/index.axb""

how did you get this error message?

This has to do with the SD card and the patch seems to make use of the patchbank feature but can’t find an index file on SD card.

This must be it. I dont have an SD card and while exploring patches, this happens for some of them.

which patch do you have an error?

I spent the last hour trying to remember and going over the patches. Can’t remember :frowning:

I was browsing community patches last night and large number of them now give “Shell task Failed” errors.

Looks like some version mismatch. Using some v1.1.0 beta? Did you do File->Sync Libraries at any point?
