Ksoloti Patcher on Raspberry Pi

Just confirmed, the new ksoloti compiles a well on my Orange Pi setup. Ksoloti and axoloti both connected.

I just need to run the ksoloti/platform_linux/./compile_firmware.sh and of course switch the pather to ksoloti mode in the preferences.

Hey Blindsmyth,
thanks! It is a Halliburton-type case (doesn’t say anything on the case), that is quite a bit bigger than the average suitcase.
It measures 56 x 33 x 18 cm and might fit in most planes luggage compartments. I did not buid it to take on flights, just to have everything ready to play in one case. It is quite heavy due to LinnStrument and TouchƩ-controller.
On the picture you can see, that I built a frame and used spacers to mount it, due to the curved body of the case.

best

I’m currently considering getting Raspberry Pi 4 with a touchscreen and keyboard to program my Gills on the go. did you get the 4GB RAM version of Rasp Pi 4?

It must have been 4GB or less. Probably 2GB.

will the patcher work on Raspberry Pi PC 400? it’s like Rasp Pi 4 with keyboard

Probably! If it’s a regular Raspberry Pi 4 just with a keyboard pre-wired and no other hardware differences.

Have you seen the video on Discord by the way? This is (was) the performance on Raspberry 4:

oh god that looks laggy :smiling_face_with_tear:

Consider the thing kaos is using, its some sort of OrangePi? Ksoloti Patcher on Raspberry Pi 4 - #32 by kaos

So the Orange Pi can run the Ksoloti patcher smoothly?

what about Raspberry Pi 5? can it handle the patcher without lagging?

I am not sure if anyone tried Pi 5 yet.

hey how did you manage to run the Patcher in RPi5?

The instructions for the orange pi should apply to RPi5 as well.

I documented as much as possible, but I recommend you read the whole thread before you start. You’re gonna spent some time compiling. You’re gonna spent some time swearing and retrying. But it works…

It’s not super smooth but very useable

all the technical jargon is giving me a headache :face_with_head_bandage:

I’m trying to install Ubuntu Mate instead of Raspberry Pi OS, but even that is difficult.

Out of curiosity, what would the advantage of Ubuntu Mate be? I am not up to date but it looks like there is no Raspberry Pi-ready version of Mate?

trying to use Ubuntu Mate because there seems to be a version that works with my MHS 3.5 inch display on RPi5. it’s on lcdwiki.com

also it’s mentioned in the Install page of Ksoloti that Ubuntu has lib32z1.

but I’ve tried opening the Patcher app in Ubuntu Desktop, nothing happens.

I don’t think there is an advantage to installing ububtu on raspberry pi, it is less used and less well maintained I presume. There really is no way around compiling all of this yourself. So if you’re not comfortable doing this… You should be willing to learn a bit. It can be very satisfying. There is lots of information out there.

As an other option, I could try and see if the binaries I compiled for orange pi run on the raspberry pi…
But I don’t have time to try this at the moment.
