anyone got any requests for patches?
I am a sucker for generative patches. There are a few in the “community” folder but I wish there were more. Once i really learn how to patch things up, thats my goal. Create more and more.
do non-linear sequencers count as ‘generative’?
also the generatusrex patch from the community folder sounds really nice.
Absolutely! (For me)
Here is another suggestion. I am working on a “dub techno” track today. Dub chords/stabs would be nice. It’s normally easy to make them with delay and reverb using pretty much any simple piano or some modified pads. I am curious what you can come up with.
someone requested an audio feedback-based non-linear sequencer on Discord. that’s next on my list.
just watched this https://youtu.be/RojvP2I8wfc?si=GJLBNzLW_1goQ3G1
might follow what he’s doing
The delay/read ms and delay/write ms objects might come in handy for a precise ms-based (=syncable) delay if you don’t have a go-to delay yet
I’m thinking more like Karplus-strong based delay. any recommendations on what objects to use?
I seem to recall user mzero used karplus-strong in the membrane drum patch. Or maybe it was somewhere else. Discord
you mean the motd object?
Yes, but apparently motd had some bug and as a result could not follow pitch correctly, and mzero addressed this?
i tried the object a long time ago, and yes it doesn’t track pitch properly. i’ll see if i can find another way around it
Here is another step-by-step example. The key is almost always delay/reverb/echo in my opinion. Any piano chords for example will sound “dublike” with enough FX. The rest is tweaking it a little bit.
first demo
dub chords test.axp (25.1 KB)
Will check it out tonight. Cant wait!
dub chords in (continuously-evolving) complete form: Dub chords - request for chemie
instructions coming soon. most of the controls are self-explanatory on the Gills display. connect your USB MIDI controller to the USB host port and play a key. use the encoder to switch scale key. press the encoder to bypass delay and reverb.
string reso minor penta (proof of concept).axp (10.5 KB)
(only requires Ksoloti Core board & audio input & output jacks)
Just came across this… mtod being used… not sure how well it tracks
By the way Patchstorage might be a good way to collect new Ksoloti patches
