What eurorack module do you want to have? (for Big Genes)

Asking because I’m coming up with some Big Genes patches, and I wanna gather some ideas.

Maybe you want a sequencer, a VCA + envelope generator, a metallic sound generator, something crazy, I don’t know.

I’d really like a generative sequencer, two tracks, outputs on Gate1+CV1, Gate2+CV2 (and/or MIDI while we’re there), so you’d have two progressions that are in sync and harmonically related (maybe with different length, transposition, speed multiplier etc.) :stuck_out_tongue:

just wanna know, what’s considered ‘generative’ and not ‘generative’?

I think generative mostly just means “it sort of keeps noodling on by itself”.

if I have a bunch of pre-programmed gate sequences, is it still generative?

To me it is, and preferable to entirely random gates

generative seq bg test.axp (30.2 KB)

try this one!

I’m watching this now to learn how to generate better melodies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXIEmMDwc7E

Something I’ve always wanted to make but don’t know how:

A delay (preferably clock-synced with the ability to select the number of bars or counts) where the delayed audio is played back at double speed, and then played again in reverse, also at 2x speed. The reversed playback should make up for the lag of realtime, double speed playback and also sound cool.

In principal it would be a single delay, but the option for a feedback knob where it does not get repitched again could be a cool feature as well.

Reverse delay… I know someone made a reverse delay object, but playing it at 2x speed, not sure about that.

I’ve successfully made a BPM-synced reverse delay that plays the audio at double speed without re-pitching again and again (only pitched once)

so normal signal → delay audio with 2x playback speed → reverse delayed audio with 2x playback speed again

working on it

there’s this
reverse delay.axp (15.7 KB)

and there’s this
reverse delay.axp (18.3 KB)

Thank you for trying! I can’t check these out right now but I will when I’m near my Ksoloti again.

chord harmony map 2.axp (85.9 KB)

new generative chord sequence patch

cv 1 = pitch 1
gate 1 = gate 1

cv 2 = pitch 2
gate 2 = gate 2

even newer version
chord harmony map 3.axp (59.7 KB)

These are cool! I do wish the delay time could be longer though. Something I’ve never been able to figure out with axoloti is how to make clock synced delays/loopers with longer times. It seems every time someone puts up a synced delay object, the clock divider stops doing anything after about 16, which probably happens for a reason, but I’ve never understood.
