Pot to ADC vs Midi controller resolution

Hi! is there any real benefit to use the ADC channels for controlling parameters vs using a midi controller?

Would i benefit from the 12bit ADC vs midi’s 7bits,
like less stepping, better fine control and similar?

Or does the software convert the 12bit adc inputs to 7bit?
I see most parameters inside the axo is 0 to 127 (7bit)

Yes, yes, no, and no.

Axo units are fractional, from -64.00 to 64.00 (or 0.00 to 64.00 but the same rules apply). You can set a dial to -54.68 or 15.01 or whatever cleans your fish tank. The resolution of all the “running” values/wires like LFOs or glide and so on is 27 bit. The ADCs are 12 bit and after denoising you still get some good fractional vslues.
