Using gills button to set a value

Hi all, ksoloti/gills noob here, please forgive me if this is a very basic question, but my Max/MSP practice is getting in the way.

I want to use button one on the gills to set a filter’s resonance to, say, 50. I then want to use button two to set it to zero.

Would some kind soul take pity on my and show me how? Many thanks!

Agree, it takes some time to think in “Axoloti logic” mainly because some workarounds are needed. Also you never know if an object that does exactly what you want already exists.

buttons_mux.axp (2.5 KB)

I have not checked if there are more suitable objects but went by foot using a flipflop set and reset.

Note that the first value will be on by default when you start the patch (because it is the “0” state). Hope this makes sense!

this is my method:

Thank you both very much, massively appreciated. I will try these methods and report back. I think I’m starting to get mu head around Axoloti logic, it’s much more like a modular synth than like Max or Pd.

Just a confirmation that both methods worked very nicely for me - thanks again, I’m using Ksoloti/Gills in a performance this coming Thursday, so I’m very grateful.
