Axoloti not being recognized by Mac

I had my OG Axoloti core connected up and working fine, and now it doesn’t seem to respond at all. The dim red light stays on, but doesn’t flash green. Tried re-flashing but I can’t even manually put it in DFU mode through the S1 switch. I tried a couple different cables and adapters as well. I’m trying to connect to a USB-C port on a Mac M4. Any ideas?

Found my error - the axoloti would crash upon startup because it has a bad startup patch. When I plugged it into a PC it seemed to boot up normally again. (not with Mac - wouldn’t recognize it?). I also tried with a powered USB-A hub on the Mac which seemed to get it to boot up normally, though it crashed again and the hub on the mac wouldn’t get it to work. This morning it worked again mysteriously. I then booted up a factory patch, had to allow many security blocks and finally it compiled the patch and i heard my first osc

Nice. It’s odd though that it did not react to the rescue mode button press. Was that button somehow used in that patch?

I’m unsure, I didn’t really know how to check what was on the board. Possibly…

I think I another aspect to this issue. It was still crashing with the powered hub. After looking into it some more I believe the part of the problem is that whenever I would plug in headphones, a midi controller etc, it creates a short or a voltage spike, which would then cause it to crash. Seems this is because the USB-C connections on the Mac do not deliver enough power (maybe someone more knowledgeable can confirm this?).

I bought a power adapter (Hosa with the interchangeable tips/variable voltage) and though I have to use it in addition to the usb when patching on the computer, it’s very solid.
