I have been sequencing it using SQ-64. Softpop 2 has its internal sequencer but does not have a MIDI out. Is there a way to sequence Gills using SP2? I use Gills as an FX box where I feed audio from SP2 to it, but never occurred to me that there may be a possibility to also sequence it. Any ideas? or without MIDI Out, this a dead end?
Does Softpop2 have any sequencer output?

If gate and CV, you’d need some additional circuitry and solder it inside your Gills to make it read CV inputs.

If not it might be possible to pick up Softpop’s audio and convert it to pitch/MIDI, and use an envelope follower to emulate a gate, see @ktttttt’s pitch to MIDI patch: Mother's helper - for Gills or ask him about an other patches he has made!
Edit: I had a quick look at the Softpop 2 manual, and it says (p. 38):
For CV, -3V to +3V, you’d need to know what you’re doing to convert it to 0 - 3.3V in order not to damage your Ksoloti’s analog input pins.
Same with the 0 to 5V gates, though many pins on Ksoloti are 5V-tolerant so you could hook up the gate (and slide for that matter) directly to a GPIO on Ksoloti.
the Axoloti Core + Hohum Labs AxoCtrl accepts CV input, but not Ksoloti Gills. with Big Genes it is possible
