Running OWL patches on Ksoloti Core?

apparently AxOwl is something that let’s you run OWL patches (from Rebel Technology) in Axoloti. I’m not home at the moment I’m typing this, but if AxOwl works, then that might mean I can program Ksoloti Core with Pure Data and other DSP coding languages.

anyone trying this?

It worked on Axoloti back when I tried this! Ksoloti Core will require a port with some minor changes!

How about the other way around? I have a rebel tech owl, can it run ksoloti patches??

I guess so. “Someone” would have to look at the AxOwl source and make some changes for Ksoloti Core. :smirking_face:

Which version Owl do you have? Aren’t there three or more versions by now?

“One” would download their repository, make some changes (different pinout for Ksoloti Core), and compile the binary haha.

Powerful STM32F4 microcontroller:

  • 168MHz 32bit ARM Cortex M4
  • 192Kb RAM, 1Mb Flash memory
  • Integrated DSP, FPU, DMA
  • 1Mb 10nS SRAM

Sounds like a STM32F407, it is a bit weaker than the Axoloti/Ksoloti (F427). Owl modular does not seem to have (8MB/32MB) SDRAM, only 1Mb of SRAM which would need some code rewrite. Not sure if they mean 1 Mbit or MByte though.

Hi there, I’m a friend of @kaos (we both were part of the Axoloti beta testing group). I own a Rebel Technology OWL as well. Its a OWL Rev06. It would be wonderful if Ksoloti would run on the OWL, So I’m interested to test as well if that would help. Cheers

That sounds like a different story, but I remember I managed to write some pretty complex patches for the device (using pure data in my case) so it does have some capabilities

do you know anyone from Rebel Technology who could help out? it’d be groundbreaking if Axoloti/Ksoloti and OWL can exchange patches
