I am happy that Ksoloti is alive. I am still an Axoloti user and I also have an Akso. I hope Ksoloti has better fortune. I really enjoy a lot building my synths and playing with them using this system.
I have used these boards for different projects using oscillators and effects but I never tried make anything using samplers.
I have just received my two Ksoloties and I would like to make some experiments with samplers just loading files and manipulating them in real time with some basic processes (loop them, select loop start and end, change velocity, etc).
“Table/play pitch loop” objet looks like it could do all this basic manipulations but I would know if it possible:
Read and play stereo samplers.
Change the table that this object is reading from on the fly? So I could load different sound in my sdcard and swith between them.
Hi, that’s definitely possible, for a start look at the rbrt/smplr objects which may do all of that. For stereo you might have to duplicate the signal chain and tables.
If you want to start from scratch there are definitely ways to patch up stereo tables which you can record (or load files) to then play back and loop with changing loop start and length.
I just had a look at table/play pitch loop and it seems a bit counter-intuitive because it doesn’t loop at all (at least not here)
If you check the old Axoloti community library the is an object called play pitch mod, that I made. In Jaffa folders:
It can be used both as a looper and as a slicer, with reverse too. I am thinking about sliming it a bit down, to remove the slicing options so its just a looper and also make one that’s just a sampler. I am actually pretty sure I did that already, I just can’t find the object atm.
