Axoloti/Ksoloti on a Mac, without the DSP board?

Hey

I want to start off with saying I love Axoloti/Ksoloti, it’s a genius project. OG user from when Axo was first released. Been on it from the beginning.

Lately I’ve seen a lot of hardware synths, like Virus Ti, Nord lead 2 and now even some of the Elektron stuff, like Machine drum is made to run just on PC/Mac, by The Usual Suspects and some third part developers.
Virus/Nord Lead/Micro Q/Etc.

Elektron Machine Drum/Mono Machine:

I was wondering, why not Axoloti/Ksoloti?

I do not have a Ksoloti At the moment, I’ve had 5 Axoloti DSP boards, but down to 2 right now, cause several of them broke. I am, getting a Ksoloti as soon as my finances allow it, no matter what happens.

But why not try to make this open source project run on just a computer?

Seen it the light of the late development on misc. synths, I was thinking if the Axoloti/Ksoloti could be adapted to just be a PC/Mac app, to run and play audio from a PC/Mac, without the DSP board?

I think that might get around some of the limitations like DSP and memory, but at the same time, don’t want to take a way business for anyone. But since it’s open source, it makes sense in my head.

I am not smart enough to make something like this myself. Maybe using some AI would get me on the way, but I was just wondering if anyone thought of the same?

An Axoloti/Ksoloti only limited by your computer would be… Insane…

I am just thinking, if people can make the Nord Lead and Virus work, Axoloti/Ksoloti should be possible to, Yes?

What do you guys think about this?

Thanks in advance!
