Hi, has anyone implemented a filter bank for Big Genes. I fancy one but don’t really like the idea of fixed frequencies. I’m thinking if this is used on too many tracks, we’ll end up with holes in the entire mix spectrum. Any thoughts?
It sounds like you are looking for a parametric EQ, with variable frequencies.
That shouldn’t be too hard to do, by using a notch filter as the base.
I don’t have my Axo turned on right now, but IRRC, you can turn a notch filter into a peak filter, by inverting the filter output and summing it with or subtracting it from the original signal. Use the spectrum analyzer to check.
And voila, you should have a variable frequency parametric eq, with both cut,boost and wideness, if you set it up correctly. Then you can copy that setup as many times as you want, to get as many points as you want.
As mentioned, I don’t remember it 100%, but it something a long those lines.
